Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) president Khaliq-ur-Rahman, accompanied by executive director Aslam Dossa, recently had a series of meetings with practising chartered accountants in Karachi , Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Islamabad.
A press release issued by ICAP stated that the objective of the inter-action with practising chartered accountants was to endeavour to assist the members in strengthening their practices by further improving their standards in auditing and other services.
ICAP said that possible ways that could be considered included merger of sole proprietorships and/or small partnerships to form fully integrated larger partnership firms of chartered accountants.
“This would result in synergies and facilitate specialization, mutual consultation, review of services provided, research and development, increased efficiency, cost effectiveness and better training facilities for students,” the ICAP press release stated.
