MUSCAT — A training programme on comprehensive auditing of projects started at Hotel Crowne Plaza here yesterday.
It is organised by the State Audit Institution in cooperation with the AGCC Secretariat-General and will run for five days.
Nasser bin Hamoud Al Rawahi, deputy president of the State Audit, opened the programme and said in an address, the event indicated the close cooperation between audit bodies in the AGCC states to develop the skills of their personnel.
He said projects were important to be audited because of their great impact on the state budget, national income and development.
Younis bin Suleiman Al Toobi from the State Audit Institution said the programme was part of the AGCC training plan for this year approved by the joint training committee at its ninth meeting held here last January.
Aql Munawir Al Dameeri, an AGCC secretariat-general official, praised the existing cooperation between financial accounting and auditing bodies in the AGCC countries in various fields, especially on training and exchange of expertise.
