KARACHI: The Northern Region Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in recognition of its broadening new horizons organised two-day conference here the other day.
State Finance Minister Omar Ayub Khan inaugurated the session and informed government measures to identify various opportunities available in the country and role of professionals, according to a press release on Monday.
The issues examined during the moot entailed dynamics of academic curriculum, training for quality professionals, continuing professional development, self-regulation, regulatory framework, cross border opportunities, marketing the profession the way forward and cross border opportunities post-WTO scenario.
Meanwhile President of the Institute Zafar Iqbal Sobani welcomed the guests.
FCA, Namul Islam Chaudhri, Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Dr Tariq Hasan, and Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India, Kamlesh S Vikamsey, chaired the other session.
