ISLAMABAD (March 05 2003) : Brining tea industry into the duty drawback regime, the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has given duty drawback facility to the exporters of different types of tea, jams, jellies/marmalade and squashes from Tuesday.
The CBR has included two new schedules in the standard SRO 415 (I)/2001 through two SROs issued here Tuesday.
The repayment of duty would be Rs 24.72 per kilogram on the export of leaf tea, Rs 20.95 per kilogram on dust tea, Rs 23.21 per kilogram on leaf and dust tea mixture, Rs 7.31 for 100 tea bags (tea bags of 2-gms), Rs 16.73 per kilogram on green tea plain, Rs 25.77 per kilogram on green tea flavoured and extent of repayment would be Rs 5.87 for 60 tea bags (green tea bags of 1.5-gms).
According to Schedule LXX, the duty drawback would be 12 paisa per litre on the export of syrup/juice, Rs 1.31 per kilogram on jam, jelly and marmalade and 10 paisa per litre on the export of squashes.
