Budget anomalies: Revenue Board's directive to stakeholders

ISLAMABAD (June 22 2003) : The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has directed all the stakeholders to submit their cases/complaints pertaining to budget anomalies before July 10, 2003.

The cases would be processed in the respective wings of the CBR before sending to anomaly committee for decision.

In order to examine any anomalies that may have arisen as a result of tariff changes in budget 2003-2004, an anomalies committee has been set up as envisaged in the finance minister's budget speech.

The committee would be headed by secretary finance besides secretary commerce, secretary industries and secretary revenue division.

The CBR has said that only genuine cases of anomalies would be entertained, while general requests for specific tariff structure and other non-budget measures will not be considered by the committee.
