KARACHI: Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) will report financial data through a new electronic information system – SAP R-3 – as the operating system.
A press note of AGP says this system allows for integrated online transmission of data, consolidation and aggregation of reports for the different levels of government accounting.
This system is being installed under World Bank funded project of Pakistan Information, Financial Reporting and Auditing (PIFRA).
The PIFRA aims to provide accurate and timely financial reports that allows for transparency, accountability and credibility in government’s financial reporting system.
The AGP in order to brief the senior officers of various offices of AGP held an orientation-cum training seminar and it was explained to them that the new accounting system provides additional system like assets, liabilities and financial commitments.
