As many as 78,000 regular and external candidates are scheduled to appear in the Degree Annual Examinations 2003 conducted by the University of Karachi beginning from December 6.
The BCom Annual Examinations 2003 (New Course) for regular and external candidates will commence from December 6 and would last till December 24. The concerned exams would be held between 2pm to 5pm (except Fridays) and from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on Fridays.
While, the annual examinations for BA (Pass) for both regular and private candidates would start from December 13 and continue till January 22, 2004.
The concerned BA exams from December 13 to 31, according to the exam schedule, would be held from 10am to 1pm, while the same would be held from 2pm to 5pm from January 1 onwards, except on Fridays when it would be held from 2.30 to 5.30pm.
Similarly, the BSc Annual Examinations will start from December 30, while the exams for BCom for candidates opting for the old course was schedule to begin from December 27, said sources at the KU’s examination department.
The centres for male candidates (both regular and external) had been set up at various teaching departments of the university, while they had been set up at city female colleges for female candidates.
In all, about 13 exam centres had been set up in this connection for both male and female candidates.
Special vigilance committees, comprising two members each, had also been constituted to keep a check on the use of unfair means during the course of degree exams.
While, all concerned law enforcement agencies had also been contacted to ensure the conduction of exams, both at varsity departments and girl colleges, in a peaceful and orderly fashion, said sources at the KU Exam Department.
