KARACHI (June 18 2003) : The State Bank has formulated a separate set of Prudential Regulations for small and medium enterprises in order to facilitate and encourage the flow of bank credit to the SMEs.
“The draft of the new Prudential Regulations has been prepared by the State Bank, keeping in view the important role of the Small and Medium Enterprises in the economic development of Pakistan,” said State Bank on Tuesday.
The State Bank has invited suggestions and views on these draft Prudential Regulations from all stakeholders, particularly bankers, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Associations, businessmen, academics, accountants and members of general public.
The draft of these Prudential Regulations has been posted at the SBP website. The SBP has set June 30, 2003, as the deadline for sending suggestions and views.
