Dear Members
The captioned topic initiated on Oct 19, 2004. Now I would like to inform you people, I am a member of Karachi Branch Council members' affairs committee. Here I will request to gather all young Acma to do some thing new for the betterment of the institute.

As we have arranged a PICNIC for members & their family on June 12 2005 at water park.

This is all about u dear.........How......! Let me explain......Once becoming a member of the ICMAP his activities moves around job & personal life. He has very less time to go ICMAP or more then 90% ACMA/ACA do not go to institute...why...what for they need to go....? except for seminars or CPE hours activity â¦etc

It shows all activities of the institute moves around students their courses, seminars, CPE, exams, syllabus, faculty, classes, passing criteria, paper setting etc.......If there is any meeting or committee formation etc.. All is about u...

U r the future ACMA, FCMA or CFO or company secretary auditors.. etc....what ever we do should be in ur benefit directly....This is only the tone we need to set .thatâs y i said we all young ACMA need to be gathered...

Y did I call only ACMAs becoz it is professional institute & their is no concept of student forum, committee, union some thing like that in bye laws of ICMAP.....& this was the major reason for why SDF could not growâ¦ there is only the members who can bring the change............by participating in the activities , elections, etc....

Mind boggling, always thought all these "PROFESSIONAL" development forums are for the betterment of students.

I would love to see "THE LAW OF ICMAP" where it restricts STUDENT DEVELOPMENT.

I was among the founder members of SDF (Students Development Forum). My dear friend SDF's sudden death was a result of KBC's politics.
I dont know if you have re-written the policies because SDF was formed by the KBC (Karachi Branch Council) of that time.

I would like to abstain from commenting over your/KBC's objectives/plans, your post says all about it.

Dear Ehrar, I am very optimistic about the future of ICMAP, I believe that only people like you can bring change in the stringent policies. Brother please do not FOLLOW the malpractices of your predecessors. I understand how easy it is to fall into the vicious cycle.

One thing that may surprise u is I know u very well when u were in SDF.......& I think u know me atleast by face............Shahaam & bilal told me about u that u were in pakistan even in ICMAP in the ramazan last year.......

Indeed i went to ICMAP in the month of Ramadan. Its good that my fame reached you before i did [)]. I hope Shaham and Bilal remembered me in a positive way. Definitely i would be able to recognise you by face. I have now lost contact with Mani. I am in touch with Salman who is working for UBL and mashAllah he is doing very well.

Are you in touch with Iqbal Lalani and Hanif Vertejee (former members of KBC and good friends of mine). You can listen to the whole conspiracy behind the unfortunate downfall of SDF.

I sincerely hope that with people like you on board there will be more professional activities both for students and members which was SDF's core motive.

dear all,
after reading all the replies I think i am one of the most junior here but i guess u people would be a great help for me.
i have recently given my P-IV papers and i am working.
I get quite depressed by the image of the ICMAP in market.
Why are we so unsocial in market and even our seniors dont tell to help juniors at various forums.Look at the support of ICAP to their students. Why not us?

Well first let me introduce myself, my name is Atif Salman. I just came to know few days back [Source was not Azeem ) ] that a discussion is being done on Accountancy forum regarding achievements of SDF. So for the correction of record I must tell you what SDF did for the betterment of Students of ICMAP and here it is

You would be wondering what that SDF (Studentsâ Development Forum) is all about.

Let me take you few years back when one master mind of ICMAP planned to hijack the whole administration of ICMAP. For that purpose he made a team of finest brains of ICMAP. The team members were Salman Ahmed (Master Mind), Azeem Shah Khan (The Planner), Syed Nauman Hussain (Key Information Manager) and Muhammad Atif Salman (The Executor).

Donât you feel like I am telling you the story of a Hollywood movie?

Well gentlemen what all you have read were the allegations on SDF, which were made by some seasoned Big Brothers of ICMAP. Who thought without their participation no event can be successful in ICMAP.

But with the help of God Almighty Allah SDF became a success story.

SDF's Achievements

SDF revived the concept of students' participation in national level seminars.

After a long time Convocation of ICMAP was organized by SDF in May 2000.

ICMAP golden jubilee seminar in June 2000 was also a mile stone for SDF team, which was marvelously organized by members SDF.

Seminar on "Personality Development through NLP" by Prof. Moiz Hussain Ph.D. (Institute of mind sciences) was very much appreciated by Students of ICMAP.

Seminars were conducted on Sales Tax, Presumptive Tax Regime, Corporate challenges of the new Millennium, E-Commerce, Oracle Financial and Career Planning.

First time in the history of ICMAP, Debate competition was successfully organized by SDF team.

On 6thJanuary 2001 Convocation and Students' Conference was again organized in which SDF members were awarded with shields with the hands of provincial minister of finance and trade Mr.Hafiz Shaikh.

well thats not the end of story we (SDF Members) were threatened by so called Qualified Member that "Stop SDF otherwise your registration will be cancelled" but we never stepped back because we knew that what we are doing is for the betterment of ICMAP and will bring a change. Above all it is beneficial for the students of ICMAP.
SDF set standards by doing all above mentioned activities that ICMAP students are as good as other students of CA, IBA ,LUMS etc.

As far as accademic achievements of SDF Members is concerned Mr. Azeem has already clearified that. But for record correction I must tell you I am appearing in P-4 exams of ICMAP and doing a job in an Automobile Company on a respectable post.

In the end I wish you all the best and pray for your Success in all goals which you are planning for the betterment of ICMAP. Aamin

Assalam o alaikum Ehrar Sahab.
I have joined this channel a few days ago and had read all of yours messages ,but could not reply due to some personal matters.anyways i m going to appear for my Professional-1 examination in this November.I really liked yours Idea to be in contact.Only in this way the people coming behind can enjoy their studies and can get enough knowledge regarding their studies as well as for ICMAP.Can u imagine i was just seeing a msg in this forum that some one was asking "HOw can i do ACMA and it was really shocking for me that there was not a single person to reply him.Ne ways i am working in an accountacy outsourcing firm here in Lahore.Basically i m from fsd and had a job there in a spinning mills for almost 1 and half year.I wud really like to meet some ACMA's here in lahore....student or qualified...i Relly enjoy the company of ACMA fellow.Would u like to tell me where are you from and hows going on urs job and life???
