Faraz.. its not our prejudice,,. that makes a non muslim in Pakistan to talk like a muslim, its just how one is raised in a society. I am sure you will be perfectly fine with a muslim in the west (for that matter even at home) to greet using the words 'Hi' and 'Good morning' as opposed to 'asalm u aliakum'. It would seem strange to me to go to Brit manager and wish him with an 'asalam u aliakum,.. ofcourse that does not mean I am hiding my identity or converting to another relegion.

The thing about a lot of christian names that sound like muslim name (mostly persian, sanskrit and urdu) is of the fact that a lot of Christians in Pakistan today are converts from muslims and hindus. Likewise you will usually find christians in India with Hindu like (Sanskrit) names.

I can understand having a muslim-like name and saying Assalam-o-Alaikum but saying something like "Sub se pehlay mein Allah ka shukar ada karoon ga jis ne mujhe yeh mouqa diya.... " seemed to me a bit weird. I mean, I can't imagine any muslim going infront of the media and saying "This is all because of Jesus" even if he was born in Vatican City.
Anyway, I guess he can say whatever he wants, it's a free world, right?

Different terminology for differnt ppl.

Does it matter if he used allah or for that matter any other name? The intention was to show gratitude to the almighty and that he did.

I think Mr. Kaneria is a broad minded person to talk like a muslim in a muslim society. It doesnt make any difference you know. It doesnt change anything inside you. If you are a muslim and you greet any christian in a christain way, it will just make him feel good. It wont mean that you have turned your self a christian. To me, religion is a very personal thing. Its between you and God. Let us keep it that way mates. It will make your lives easier. You can never force one into a religion. You just can convince by your acts that we have a better religion. But Still the point remains, will you say the exact words "This is all because of Jesus" where ever you are.

You wont use the terminology of god for christians in your speech

Reading the post, though I agree that different sections use different terminology and its perfectly fine. I respect their freedom to use any term. However for the sake of clearing the concept, I must mention that in the equation mentioned Allah is the only one of the 99 names. Its a matter of social respect and mutual acceptability to use the name which is the authorised name.

i also heard that he (danish) is hindu. Yousaf Yohana is a christian but he also use word Insha Allah.
