I want to express my opinion regarding college life. I completed my matric from a Federal Govt school of my sector (Islamabad). Till matric all my thinking and mentality limited to my sector at that time I even did not have experience to travel in buses. My class fellows lived around my home but when I got admission in College I got many things.College life has played a vital role in making me a reasonable personality. Mostly portion of 1st year of college life spent in voundering in collegs, missing classes, travelling without paying, gossiping, enjoying, killing time in canteen and doing enjoyment. The days I spent in college was most beautiful and memorable days of my life. After rain we enjoyed the beautiful scene of Margalla Hills, that could be seen easily after rain because of dust free air. Our college had a big stadium we sat there and enjoyed time in Gossiping and laughing. We often visited Jumma Bazar and Mangal Bazar in woundering in bazar seeing people, inquiring about thing (just for enjoyment). This was so beautiful time. During my first year and second year I ussually spent atleast 1 hour in studying newspapers in college library. During college life I saw many clashes among students organizations and after some time this became a routine practice for me. Some times I sat in the isolated portions of college with my friends and some times under sheodow trees and spent out time in discussing our future plans, gossiping, discussing religious & political issues and fighting (friendly). But 2nd year of my college made me some mature. Only first few months of 2nd year I enjoyed college life in full mood. But since I had some compartments in 1st year so I was under the presure of studies. In first year my combination was Maths,Statistics and Physics but since I had compartment in Physics and as per Federal Board policy I could change my subject in which I had supply. So I replaced physics from Economics then my combination was Maths,Stats and Economics since this combination also falls in General Science Group so my class and class fellows remained same . Studying economics was a wouderfurl experience for me. In my opinion economics is a bright subject while physics is too dry and boring. In latter years of my life economics played a very important role and lead my career towards accounts and finance.I took much interest in economics that was the reason that although I appeared simultaneously in 1st year and 2nd year papers of economics but I got 150 marks collectively out of 200 marks. After F.Sc,although all of my class fellows were studying in colleges and only few enjoying university life but all of us had opinion that the charm of college life had ended. We were mature and many time conscious about our future as compare as we were in F.Sc. We were mature and I can say that most of us moving from teenage or have entered in mature age. So it was natural. I have thousand of good memories about college life ,about every part of my college but I have limited time to express these feelings, this is first time I am openly discussing about my college life. Now when I am studying in ICMA for many years, done my M.A (Economics), have a work experience of more than three years and my engagement have taken place, whenever I feel deep sorow ,sadness and bitternes then I recal my college life and get refresh . I wrote above topic with my heart and while writing this topic I several time became too emotional. That's why this topic influenced you to a high extent. Thank you very much for your comments about my topic. You are worry that you will lose your friends please do not take it serious its a rule or way of life those who meet in life must separate with one another. Just focus on your education but keep alive beautiful momories of college life. With Good Wishes and warm Regards, Awais Aftab - Astute Accountant - 09-10-2009 I just jumped in and went through the last three posts. It was a great feeling in itself to have read these. College life... wow... I had a great time in College Alhamdulillah... A really fun-filled time! My College life has all what one can ever wish for... Alhamdulillah I had a great academic background and a relationship of sheer respet and love with my college faculty... So the faculty cherished me a lot. [)] One more thing that went in my favor was that all my close friends were of Pre-medical (I was the odd one out to have chosen Computer Sciences in F.Sc.) that's why I had close ties with that group. I had good terms with Pre-Engineering group as well. And obviously, my Computer Sciences group fellows were also my friends. So my whole class was kinda friend to me... I was in the 'disciplinary squad' as well so I always had an unristricted access to the Principle, Admin etc etc... One more thing that we used to go was to rush to the cafe' to have a samosa or something like that. Then rushing back to the class... Standing near our classroom's door... Eating our samosaz hurridly... cleaning our hands and faces with tissue papers and then opening the door of our classroom and asking 'innocently' (as if we had eaten nothing)and with a smiling face, may I come in Sir/Maa'm? And when the result of first year came out I had topped the college... My God!... One of the most beautiful days of my life! It was for the first time in the history of our college that the college was topped by an ICS student... So two more medals to me! [)] Unfortunately I have lost one of them but one is still with me. The second year of my college life was also a joyful year for me. And I believe I'm the most high scoring person of my whole family Alhamdulillah. So I can never forget such a beautiful time period of my life. Praise be to Allah Almighty for His special blessings upon me! - Astute Accountant - 09-10-2009
quote
But 2nd year of my college made me some mature. Awais Aftab

Physics isn't boring at all. What makes it appear boring and dull is the teaching method and the attitude of the teacher towards his students. A detailed knowledge of physics enables you to think how a differents things are operated and how they actually work. I couldn't spare some time to get a detailed knowlegde of how the Radar Systems work. Let's see when I get some free time... - awaisaftab - 09-10-2009 Yes, you are right physics is not a boring subject the remarks that I have given are based on my mental level of F.Sc. If you first time experience failure in a board exams it makes you some how destorted. Same was happened with me. You know every student has a different choice of subject for instance you choosen computer science group and your other friends selected pre-engineering and pre-mediacal group. Someone can say that you did not like chemistry. But it may be totally wrong. Take the example of arts students and those who have not mathematical background they say that maths is too boring and dull subject but obviously we have the opinion that maths is an interesting subject. Anyhow you were a good student from beginning and I became serious about studiet when I got admission in B.Com. Thank you for appreciating my posts about college life. - Astute Accountant - 09-10-2009 Hmmm. So are you done with all your written exams of ICMA? - awaisaftab - 09-10-2009 No,some papers are still remaining of my ICMA. I do not know about you. Whether are you a CA or ACMA student or quaulfied ? - kamranACA - 09-11-2009 Dear Astute is astute. Although Astute likes to be called as an accountant. Astute is pursuing CIMA and will be doing CA after that. We have sort of blood relation so I gave explanation on Astute's behalf! Regards, Kamran. |
