<b>Concept Of Companionship</b>

Human Beings in all phases of life, from the very beginning of childhood and youth, old age till his death, are in need of friendship and association with others. Owing to his social nature, man is compelled to live in society and with other individuals. And most of our lives depend on interaction with others.

Friendship is such a beautiful gift. A friend in need is a friend in deed after all. A friend is a very important person in one's life. Those who have worthy friends are never lonely and friendless in the world, since in joy and sorrow, their true friends help and support them. Naturally, a human being feels happy at the companionship of friends, and is sad at being lonely and distress and having no worthy companions.

Islam has placed tremendous importance on the aspect of sociability and friendship. This sense of companionship holds a lot of significance in any relationship. In the Noble Qur'an, Allah (SWT) clearly states that He too chose friends for himself; who were none other than Prophet Ibrahim, Khalil Allah (as), and Prophet Muhammad, Habib Allah (saw).

Today, we see intense disputes and altercations arising even between parents and children and as well as among siblings. This is chiefly due to the fact that, though their relationship is marked with blood ties, the all-important sentiments of fellowship and friendship are sorely missing. Our experience will tell us that friendship often takes precedence over blood relations. Man tends to heed his friends more than his relatives. He trusts his companions more than his own kin. The youth today, confide in their friends, while being discreet with their parents.

Islam is in complete harmony with man's nature. Hence, it has dealt with this topic of friendship in detail. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and Ahlul Bayt (as) were at pains to explain the etiquette and decorum of true friendship, so that we can acquire benefit out of companionship; a benefit whose effects will be manifested in the world as well as the hereafter.

Imam Ali (as) observes, "He indeed is unfortunate who does not have any friends, but worse is the one who has friends, but loses them."

Imam Ali (as) Says "Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company (friendship)."

Some Beautiful Qoutes From the story, <b>THE ALCHEMIST</b> by PAULO COELHO....

<font color="blue">"When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream."
</font id="blue">
<font color="maroon">“All you have to do is contemplate a simple grain of sand, and you will see in it all the marvels of creation. Listen to your heart. It knows all things, because it came from the Soul of the World, and it will one day return there.” </font id="maroon">

<font color="blue">“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.” You’ve got to find the treasure, so that everything you have learned along the way can make sense. “</font id="blue">

<font color="maroon">“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”
</font id="maroon">
<font color="blue">“When you are loved, you can do anything in creation. When you are loved, there’s no need at all to understand what’s happening, because everything happens within you.”</font id="blue">

<font color="maroon">“I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy man. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living now.”</font id="maroon">

<font color="blue">“When each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises.”</font id="blue">

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color="maroon">[font=Comic Sans MS]<center><u><b>7 Reasons to Read the Quran</b></u></center>

<b>1. Inimitable</b>
It dares you to disprove it. How? It says that humans cannot write a book like this even if they pooled all their resources together and got help also from the spirits. The Qurân said this fourteen hundred years ago and yet no one has been able to disprove it. Billions of books have been written-but not another one like the Qurân.
<b>
2. Incorruptible</b>
It is the only religious sacred writing that has been in circulation for such a long time and yet remains as pure as it was in the beginning. The Qurân was kept intact. Nothing was added to it; nothing was changed in it; and nothing was taken away from it ever since its revelation was completed 1400 years ago.

<b>3. Unsurpassable</b>
The Qurân is Allah’s final revelation to humankind. Allah revealed the Torah to Moses, the Psalms to David, the Gospel to Jesus, and finally the Qurân to Muhammad (S.A.W.W) Peace be upon Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad (S.A.W.W). No other book will come from Allah to surpass His final revelation.

<b>4. Indisputable</b>
The Qurân withstands the test of time and scrutiny. No one can dispute the truth of this book. It speaks about past history and turns out right. It speaks about the future in prophecies and it turns out right. It mentions details of physical phenomena which were not known to people at the time; yet later scientific discoveries prove that the Qurân was right all along. Every other book needs to be revised to accord with modern knowledge. The Qurân alone is never contradicted by a newly discovered scientific fact.

<b>5. Your Roadmap for Life and Afterlife</b>
The Qurân is the best guidebook on how to structure your life. No other book presents such a comprehensive system involving all aspects of human life and endeavor. The Qurân also points out the way to secure everlasting happiness in the afterlife. It is your roadmap showing how to get to Paradise.

<b>6. Allah’s Gift of Guidance</b>
Allah has not left you alone. You were made for a reason. Allah tells you why he made you, what he demands from you and what he has in store for you. If you operate a machine contrary to its manufacturer’s specification you will ruin that machine. What about you? Do you have an owner’s manual for yourself? The Qurân is from your Maker. It is a gift for you to make sure you function for success, lest you fail to function.
It is a healing from Allah. It satisfies the soul, and cleans the heart. It removes doubts and brings peace.

<b>7. Your Calling Card to Communicate with your Lord</b>
Humans are social creatures. We love to communicate with other intelligent life. The Qurân tells us how to communicate with the source of all intelligence and the source of all life-the One Allah. The Qurân tells us who Allah is, by what name we should address Him, and the way in which to communicate with Him.
Are these not seven sufficient reasons for reading the Qurân?

Salam,

I have seen many muslims doing what is expected of them only out of fear of Allah.BUT we muslims should live our life in a nice balance of <b>hope </b> & <b>fear</b> as umar(r.a) use to say (not exact wordings)

If Allah tells me that He will grant paradise to all but with only one exception,I would fear that this person may be myself BUT if Allah tells me that I would throw everyone in hell but with one exception,I would hope that this person shall be myself.

Regards.
