engineers, then IT pros went umemployed what next - Ice_Blue - 08-07-2004 Salam to all, some time ago there was an IT boom, ppl were running like mad after IT degrees but the IT bubble in pk got burst .... and u know what happened. it seems that, accountancy is the next profession in in line. a very very large number of students(including the meritorious) are doing CA ( if they think they wont pass it, they go for ACCA). With only about 700 public listed companies in karachi and almost 2000 qualified CAs in this region, wud the market be able to absorb these PROFESSIONALS. I (and probably many others) would like to hear what the gurus say about this. plus i want to know what wud be required to get an edge over others in this competitve environment (pakistan only) Who shall be the fittest in this "Survival of the fittest" May God keep everyone happy. To control the flood, ICAP will tighten the exam results so that CA market saturation doesnt occur. But i also fear, in spite of ICAP's attempts to control market saturation, since ACCA wont hold back any results like ICAP, the market will eventually be flooded and accountants' salary packages will hit rock bottom like other professions. ________________________ Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates! - Goodman - 08-09-2004 so its a no win situation for ICAP. they lose either way....
