Acca's practical experience in ICAP - usi362 - 10-14-2011

A.O.A All...

I have recently become ACCA affiliate and want to do CA ICAp. But there is a major problem that is worrying me alot.

I did A levels and then straight started acca. Following the revision of the ICAP's policy regarding ACCAs exemption i have either need to be graduate or complete module D before my articles are counted (as to my knowledge).
Now i am getting an opportunity to get into KPMG and proly my articles would start in this nov.i gave B.com part 1 exams this year and the second part's result would be announced probably in oct 2012.i am also doing BSC oxford brooks although it is recog by HEc but its result will come in march 2012. As i have no graduation and i havnt done module D yet how i can make icap count my articles until my result for graduation is declared. otherwise i would have to do additional articles for about a year.

i dont think firms will take you now, because exemptions for acca are over...now acca ppl have to start from module a and then come in the normal course to get articles in the firm id they want to do ca..they can get registered in the firm on bcom basis, but again they cant do ca because even bcom ppl have no exemption in ca...so overall by what i think, there will be no acca inductions in firms from this attempt...i might be wrong....

tahmans thanks for ur reply but i think u r not clear about the ca exemption policy for ACCA's. ACCA's are currently given 7 exemptions but as most of the acca's do not take tax as pakistani variant the exemptions are effectively 6. Moreover due to A levels i would be able to take 1 extra exemption for economics paper.
