Discrimination in the US - Pracs - 09-30-2004

I have noticed that we have quite a few members from the US here... I was wondering what kind of discrimination do you guys (to all the desis that is) face in the US.. especially in the North east.. tri state area,. MA, PA etc...as an after math of 9/11.

I know my brother was in NY until March of 2002,.. how are things now.. we keep hearing some horrendous stories out of the US.. a lot many muslims are relocating to the Gulf... Dubai as well.

Any comments..

There's more probability of me getting looted in the middle of the day, bombed in a mosque, karo karied, abused by police, discriminated on the basis of my community/sect/religion/domicile over here in my dear ol Pakistan than in the US.

Just a thought.

And yes, i am more patriotic than you, so u better not start calling me names! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well Guybrush
the descri. you referred to is of different nature.
In Western Europe its becoming increasingly difficult due to the negitive media image.

Its quite true that a lot of people are relocating to other coutries. I believe the recent real estate boom in Pakistan is also partly attributed to this.

I agree with Guybruch. First we have to solve the discrimination within muslims. Find the news of mosque bombing in Sialkot in today's newspare. Do you still dare to pray in mosques?

This is quite a different matter, as we can see that the bomb attack are being targeted towards a particular sect, we can see with examples of karachi and quetta mosque bombings.
