Actuarial Science and Islam - farazthegreat - 11-02-2004

Now before anybody says anything, I know that the Actuarial Science topic has been done to death on the forum. But I just wanted to clarify a few things. How much involvement is there of Interest/Riba/usuary is there in this field. I understand that there has to be some involvement as in every financial field, but is this field primarily based on interest transactions? I would appreciate if the senior members could satisfy my queries.
Thanks

As much as in accountancy I must say. Derivatve trader could give you a better insight.

Simplifying it Whatever modelling is done based on an acturial calcualtion will lead to a fixed percentage or a cap - which is something I guess which would fall in the perview of interest.

BTW when you are an accountant, you cannot divorce yourself from Interest all together
