computer graduate for ACCA - morientes - 04-30-2005 hi, i am a computer science graduate.after working an year in the IT sector i have decided now to go for a finance/accounting career as have now realised computing is simply not for me, I am interested in doing ACCA/CFA, but fear dont have the necessary 'base'or technical know-how for it to start it. need some advise !!! how about doing an MBA[finance] first and then completing the remaining ACCA/CFA papers?or taking a big risk and doing ACCA right from the scratch. please do reply....... - muhammad awais - 05-02-2005 hi! yar i want to tell you that ACCA is still not wothwhile in Pakistan as CA but it is so preferable than MBA. A person after completing ACCA would have to take a harm decision that what should i do now....? i.e. after completion of ACCA. but can impact on business more than a MBA qualified. - the_farhan - 05-02-2005 mr. morientes, u ve replied the most appropriate answer urself. i mean, starting CFA right now will be very risky really. other two options are ACCA n MBA. but wait, u ve to decide first tht where u want to work in future? if in banks n other financial institutions, then CFA is better choice. ACCA is better option for corporations/companies. if u decide for CFA, doing MBA first will be a safer side. MBA will enable u to start jobs in financial inst/banks n then u can do CFA along with job at an easy pace. if u go for corporations, MBA n ACCA r good. do either thing first. however, MBA will exempt u for some papers of ACCA. FARHAN live, n let live ... |
