Module C taxation - Nauman - 05-06-2005 This is a tricky question we have one of the best teachers of taxation namely Sajid Shafique and Ali Akbar here will vouch that for me but the problem is how to study tax at home, we have this income tax ordinance book but the language in that is the language used in constitution though I will learn the definitions from here but I need to revise concepts from somewhere so which book would you recomend me for that. Also I need some practice questions with answers given where will I get them? Last but not the least is there a method to memorize all the concepts like eg House Rent > 45% of Basic salary is to be added in taxable income, this concept seems easy right now but by the time I finish the course I am sure there will be 100 such concepts so is there a method which will help me keep track of these things? Thankyou in Advance Regards Nauman-ul-Haq - maani - 05-07-2005 hi, I ve passed taxation this time and I totally studied at home, you only needs "introduction to taxation" by Mirza Munawar.... Ace - Ali Akbar - 05-07-2005 AoA Dear Nouman. Having a teacher like Mr. Sajid Shafiq, you need not to worry about Tax and Accounting. I studied tax totally from Sir's handouts. I studied ordinance as a reference book. I did'nt study Munawar Mirza. I had a good grip on tax. You will have to learn rules by heart. Had there been Gold Medal in tax, I would have secured gold medal in it, bcz I performed very well in tax paper, even more than accounting paper. ICAP is the best. - Durraiz - 05-07-2005 Initially when I started studying tax I felt that everythimg is going over my head, but slowly and gradually everything fell in its place. About the salary numericals, you can download papers from ICAP's site or you can get them from PAC's blue book. As you'll practice those 18 to 20 numericals, all the details like when to include 45% percent exemption, would be automatically absorbed. And I believe that you should read from the Ordinance, because thats how you learn the language. - fahim239 - 05-15-2005 Nauman you can do it from Sir's Handouts without even opening the ordinance.as i have done it like that! for practice questions "Synopsis of Taxation in Pakistan" is a good book! ytou can use that. but once agaion i strongly recommend Sir Sajid's Notes.i prepared at home from these notes and by the grace of god al mighty i cleared Tax. fahim - spooky - 05-15-2005 GO THORUGH THE ORDINANCE AND TRUST ME U WILL PASS THE PAPER OF TAX EASILY AND LISTEN TO WAT SAJID SAB SAYS HES WITHOUT DOUBT A VERY GOOD TEACHER waqas - Nauman - 05-15-2005 Thanks for help everyone, its really appreciated ) Nauman-ul-Haq - fahim239 - 05-18-2005 Naumaan You Are Welcome!
