MBA specialization in what? help! - btagar77 - 06-02-2006 Assalam-o-Allaikum brothers, I am new in this forum. I want some suggestion from you. I am M.Sc. in Physics. But I think my future is not bright as I have tried many ways - I know. Now I want to do MBA. I don't have much money to do from IBA or LUMS - as they are very expensive. So I have chosen Sindh university as the only option. I have heard that MBA finance is very charming and demanding. But I am very interested in Management Information System. I am a Software developer and know enough networking. I need your suggestion whether which MBA will be better for me and is there any other institute - cheaper. And what about Sindh university. I have read newspaper in which IBA and LUMS graduates are prefered then what about the rest. Please reply me kindly. Allah paak will solve your all the problems. Aameen! Badar - Pracs - 06-03-2006 Btagar, Since you are a science graduate and as you say you now have an IT background,. I think an MBA in IT or marketing may help you in horning your skills in that very field. This is based on the presumption that you would continue on in IT If however you are interested in Banking or generally finance an MBA in finance would be the thing to do, Finance/accounting is not a very difficult area, its not rocket science just takes a bit of logical thinking and procedures based approach. With an MBA fin you would have options in Banks on the opearations side as well. However, if you aim to go into core Finance/accounting you will be up against qualified accountants CAs ACCAs etc. On your question about the validity of an MBA not from LUMS/IBA... a decent Uni would do,, ofcourse not a LUMS/IBA degree but then not every one goes to these Unis.. so there is always a niche market for other graduates - btagar77 - 06-03-2006 Assalam-o-Allaikum, Thank you Pracs. Your reply really solved my problem. Allah Azzawajal will solve your problems in both world. Insha Allah Azawajjal. Badar |
