Need Help related : Intro to Financial Accounting - Saadanwar - 06-20-2006 Salamz, Guyz plz help me in Mod-B Intro To Financial Accountingpaper B-4. the prob is that iam doing practise from Mukher jee. And atm we have done T-accounts Journal Entries Subsidairy books of original entry ledger accounts Bill of Exchange Cash book and currenly have started Depreciation iam okay with the illustrations provided in the respecive chapters of book But when i check the Past paper,i think that my prep is nothing i get confused. There is pretty much still syllabus to read and prep Plz guide me How can i check if my current prep is good? And plz guide me what to do to get through this paper How much time to give. - maani - 06-20-2006 Hi buddy, the fact is that you have not covered a single major topic of the syllabus...if you are studying privately then u really needs to work very hard n improve ur speed to cover the syllabus...n if studying at some institute then ur teacher needs some pills to get out of unconciousness...Final Accounts of Sole Trader, Partnership Accounts, Manufacturing Accounts (though not tested frequently), Incomplete Records, Accounts of Non profit organizations, Accounting for Branches, Consignments, Joint Ventures................................ my dear bro. what have you done out of these above mentioned major topics?......if your answer is no, then its the time to wakeup... in Mod B this is the major subject, so pay more attention to this subject...In my view Frank Wood is a must for beginners of accounting before starting any other book...try have it. - Saadanwar - 06-21-2006 Hi mani thx for the reply Yaar Iam studying in Skans ISD. The teacher is very good.. And have a looot of experiance,he is FCA. He have told us in the beginning that we will get only one week free before exams. We had started with frankwood and after doing its first 6 chapters then we came on Mukherjee. At the moment we have left Profit and loss A/C Income Statement reconcilation ratification Special A/c's Now what u say about it... Iam not in a position to do this subject at home or tuition center. Bcoz i have no accounting background. - maani - 06-21-2006 Hi, buddy a teacher can only give you a broad concept, you have to do the rest.Frank Wood's Accounting is a must (in my opinion).Mukhergee is good for problems, but topics are explanied in extremely easier way in Frank Wood. I myself didn't had the accounting background, but I completed my CA Inter privately, didn't take coaching for a single paper(didn't added this to prove me very intelligent, just intended to boost your confidence and morale) As I told earlier, the major protion of the syllabus is not covered yet.You should start your study at your own.Start your study from Frank Wood, at first do all the topics from this book (all the topics means all the topics included in your syllabus) and then when u think that u have enough hold on this book, then go for Mukhergee's. Your teacher might be very good in your opinion, buy mine is otherwise, as only two months have left and all the major areas are remaining. - insaan - 06-21-2006
quote
He have told us in the beginning that we will get only one week free before exams

oh itz alarming , only a week it really means either ur teacher needs to be fast or otherwise i would go by maani's opinion..do on ur own and u should do + dont forget u also have mercantile law too we at TSA karachi , always have about 20 to 30 free days before exams and thatz a must & thatz a big contributing factor in good results of TSA .... i cant understand y is ur teacher going so slow as far as accounts is concerned accounts of module B is more of practice than concepts so practice as much as u can & focus on past papers.... - maani - 06-21-2006 how is practice possible without concepts. At first comes your concepts then your practice and then past papers, otherwise whenever one will see a pastpaper it will add some more exam fear. - Saadanwar - 06-21-2006 yaar.. the teacher give us practical questions and illustrations from mukher jee. and give us lecture from both Mukherjee and frankwood. And what he has thought to us is on my tips. He told that No need to worry about syllabus covering and only to concentrate on prepareation and to study at home what he tolds us todo. And for the time.. Its very hard to study in advance on my own Bcoz.. what i will study my self in 4 hrs will be thought by the teacher in one lecture. And Mercantile law and IT is also part of my routine study. So no chance for self study. - maani - 06-22-2006 Even if you are taking coaching, self study is a must in CA.Otherwise at the end you will finish up blaming your teacher. |
