I have researched a bit on the office timings & it seems that they are really very long uptil late night in the earlier years. Thats really horrible. I was wondering what are the normal working timings for people working in this preofession in pakistan. Sales& Trading professional might be slightly less and more market hours oriented. - ausmanpk2001 - 12-14-2006 hmm.. thanks thts min whats "normal" do you work in the investment banking industry? - derivativetrader - 12-15-2006
quote
hmm.. thanks thts min whats "normal" do you work in the investment banking industry?

I've never worked in Pakistan so can't comment on it from that perspective. In London, if you work within the IBD (Corporate Finance dept.) at a graduate level you may be working an average of 70+ hours a week. For front office people in market, hours could be slightly better but expect around +/-60 per week. I have worked in the IBD of a bulge bracket US Investment Bank in London. Now I work in investment consulting side - much more fun on the buy-side - but I have numerous friends in Ibanking and do interact with senior bankers as part of my job. - ausmanpk2001 - 12-17-2006 thanks one more question I'll be applying for investment banking in pakistan with a Bachelors Hons in Accounting with associate membership of Securtities & Investment Institute of UK & ACCA Associate member What are the chances that I might get an offer? & any idea about the starting salaries?
