Basant - Gull - 02-10-2007 Basant is Basicoly is a foctor of enjoyment in pakistan. Every body doesn't know the real reason of this tehwaar. But in my views if people understand this thing that they spent those money to pour people which they spent on basant it could be batter of our country and also it will become a showing factor of our bhotherhood.... 1.Cuts on hands 2.It cuts throats of innocent people 3.Wastage of money in the air 4.Majority of the pakistani people dont have enough funds to manage EIDS, Shab e barrat and Marriages so it creats the inferiority stuff intheir minds. 5.Gun firing, fire works and etc creat more trouble. 6.Loud music systems creat problem for old/senior citizens and patients 7.Pakistani people has limited sources but after seeing aristocrates the young and un mature minded boys do the evil things like mobile snatching, theft etc 8.Pakistan has already shortage of electricity but this event grabs the high load when all lights and sounds are on. The track that I made to measure the danger If you keep walking you will observe that all your valued money belongs to Shaukat khanam, Earth quake victims and those patients who haavent a single ruppee to pay for their confirmed death and pain....... think basant is nothing but only the custom of the Hindus and those of Non-Muslims and only the waste of time it is although it is considered an entertainment but in the present age it has assumed the nature of a dangerous game that is absolutely a waste of time and money. So according to the weather it should only be celebrated the jushn-e-bahar in a simple and decent manner in which there should not be a risk of loosing of life and not the wastage of assets of the nation and it should not be harmful for the coming generation of the Pakistan. Basant is a seasonal celebration and there is nothing wrong in celebrating it with in certain limits and without becoming a danger for some one's life. aur yeh sab hummain khud karna hai. apni maddad aap ..... - seesamad - 01-31-2008 Everybody in the forum is correct and have similar thinking like me but let me share you one thing as there was one suggestion to have allocated a one place / ground for kite tournamnet but can u imagine itna bara lahore eik medaan mein sma sektah hey . Listen the dangers caused by doors/thread is so thick and it took a huge power to break why should govt. or kite flying assosc. banned them? why dont they bann Big kites for which strong thread is used to fly and it is hard to broke thats why a motorcycles accidents happened in previous years. Did someone ponders that in earlier eras why these incidents were not happened bcz threads like 0 number,16 (made up of thick coat) not used ever but in prev 5 yrs i hav bn seeing a huge entrance of dangerous kite flying material like chemical thread and big kites and yes it must be banned. Also associated activities on basant bahar like firing shud be stopped and should consider as a moral and individual responsibility to avoid such things. I remember that Basant itself is very cheerful and colourful activity but inclusion of additional factors have made it dangerous for life and resources. Authorities should define the standard of thread (like 7 coat thread-7 panda brand/8 chain/5 panda) these threads are so week eventhey can easily broken in a jerk and it could only be possible through proper monitoring otherwise one violates and offers a green currency notes to authority to get out oneself from the case. This is all i understand ... Thank you |Abdulsamad| [email protected] - Sarfaraz - 02-13-2008 AOA Dear friends please read the complete article for the history of valentine day and basant. http//www.jamatuddawa.org/marsad/feb08/zerbfeb08/basant.html - kamranACA - 02-13-2008 Dears, It's really a gud topic and discussion. I appreciate what Cool Lioness has analysed. Basant is not bad in its basic idea. It is the start of spring and was not only celebrated in india by hindus. Rather the commencement of spring is being celebrated in different ways since the inception of the written history by different nations. Now if we talk about the kite flying and make it specific to hindus, it would again be one sided picture. In so many countries kite flying is celebrated as a festival. I think so many of us would be aware if see the news channels an other informative tv channels. However, this is an other issue that we are basically illiterate nation and whatever we do, we put in some thing odd and illiterate. We definitely don't celebrate this kite flying as the other civilized nations do. Further to above, Gull was analysing the most noble usage of money and resources by Pakistanis. I don't principally dis-agree to Gull but the thing which Gull was trying to point out can never be adopted and implemented in entirety. Just leave the Basant and see what we do on other occussions. We lavishly expense out at weddings, Eids, festivals, celebrations, so-called new year nights, and many more occusions. Our general lives show a picture of competition and race of getting richer and richer. Things sound good but practically these have to remain more than impossible for ever. The person who lives in a Bangulow of 8 Kanals (4000-5000 Yards) will never consent to cut his residential facilities down to 10 Marlas (250-300 yards) to provide living space to poors who cannot affoard such residences. The guys having mercedez or BMW will never consent to come down to Suzuki Mehran to share the wealth with others. I don't mean to prolong the issue or to reject the idea of donating for noble purposes. I am in fact only saying that even if some one do these noble things, he/she normally do not discontinue the leisure and priorities which he/she has settled down for his/her life. Therefore, barring the Basant just for this sake would not work. People may utter out YES YES but no body would do what an ideal system could expect. I once said on this forum (not agreed by some fellows) that it is gud to idealise the things but idealism cannot be achieved in entirety. If we see, we must know that this is the law of God. We should behave well. We should manage the things to avoid casualities. We should remain within moral boundries. There may be some legal boundries and framework for celebrating anything including but not limited to Kite flying. Nothing else could be done. Capping something would not be gud in my view, specially for a nation which is already capped on so much and as such has been made almost handicapped. Regards, Kamran. |
