I am new to this forum. My expectations are very high from all the fourm members especially senior students and qualified ACCA forum members regarding the guidance of new students like me. I have started ACCA with great entheusism by gaining 5 exemptions on MBA basis. Now I am student of ACCA part-2. I had heard that ACCA is costly but I did not think so because If one gets through all the examinations in first attempt, It can be completed in almost 150000/- to 200000/- rupees. But when I heard about the membership fee, It realy got me worried. Because withwout membership one can't claim to be ACCA. In other words if one has to show on his/her CV to be qualified ACCA, he has to retain the membership and obviously will have to pay annual membership fee. In this regard it becomes very costly especially if one does not get a suitable job on the basis of ACCA. So please guid me any ACCA qualified or senior forum member that if one do not want to become an ACCA member, of what utility ACCA is for him/her. I would be highly oblidged for the satisfactory answer to this complexity. Thanks. - Friend - 03-26-2007 Dear brother (mfahr) Thank you very much for reply. I have done MBA from Allama Iqbal open university originally with marketing but also passed the specialization courses of Financial Management. Before this I have done B.com. I have a job of Finance officer in an international NGO and am getting gross salary Rs.30,000/- per month. I am in this field since 2000. Actually I want to enhance my professional qualification. I am worried just because the annual membership fee is a life time charge and without this your whole effort and degree is useless. As per my opinion, ACCA is the best possible rout to have an international professional qualification and that too by continuing the job. But sorry to say, I am not in fovour of this life-time "Phakky" in the name of membership fee. That's why I had posted my comment on this forum. Anyhow, thank you for encougagement. I think one can also think of MS financial magagement form any recognized university that conducts such couses on-line or that can relax the attendance. What do you say about this idea? Have you any information about any such university? Or have you any other idea for the enhancement of one's qualification keeping in mind my circumstances.Because as per my opinion, to get a senion position in the finance sector, one must not have to stuck with only one qualification. Do you agree? Do reply please. Thanks. |
