all about CA - sagar - 12-27-2003 dear sumaaan, is CA equivalent to a Masters degree in pakistan? sagZ - sumaaan - 12-27-2003 CA is a 'qualification' whereas Masters is a 'degree'. If you want comparison according to salaries and/or value, both are so diverse that they can't be compared justifiably. - jbladeus - 12-27-2003 Sumaan and Sagar Just recently a ruling was passed by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan which gave Pakistani CAs and ICMAs equivalent status to Masters. I am putting the exact wordings of that ruling in a new thread in the careers section for the benefit of members. ________________________ Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates! - sumaaan - 12-27-2003 Thanks Guybrush for providing such valuable information and correcting my mistake. Guybrush, i have read ur article on CAREERS forum. i need to know a couple of things 1) in which descipline this masters degree will b awarded?? i mean, MBA, M.Comm, or what ??? 2) is the HEC going to give a masters degree itself or just an equivalence-to-masters-degree certificate??? 3) i have heard from my friend who is in P-II of ICMAP tht ICMAP has already been giving the degree of M.Comm to its successfull candidates. so, will ICMAP keep on giving this M.Comm degree along with this new masters degree??? 4) as far as ICMAP matters, the entry requirement is graduation degree. so, it looks okey tht ACMAs b given the masters degree. bt in case of ICAP, the entry requirements r inter/A-levels, n not all tht stdnts do graduation in the meanwhile. so, how can (or will) HEC give those ppl a masters degree who dont have a graduation/bachelors degree??? i hope to get comprehensive reply from all u guys. salaam, FARHAN - the_farhan - 12-28-2003 salaam all dear mr. I have seen some of my friends who qualified CA by the Intermediate route, before this step of ICAP they were not even graduate although they were qualified. I used to say them, "you can not take part in the elections, as you are not graduates" SMR - jbladeus - 12-29-2003 SMR But now with the grace of god, we are eligible for not just elections, but B Class jail, which is only reserved for graduates and above. ________________________ Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates! - smraza - 12-29-2003
quote
SMR But now with the grace of god, we are eligible for not just elections, but B Class jail, which is only reserved for graduates and above. ________________________ Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates!

Agreed guybrush, See you there , I ll be soon there to meet you.(Kidding) SMR - sagar - 12-29-2003 yo man , but i m not gonna meet u all dere.Bytheway i also knew dat thg (abt Master's degree) ,so i jus wanted to confirm.... thx u all sagZ - sagar - 01-06-2004 bytheway what about CA-inter , is dat to a Bachelors degree? sagZ |
