Coming back to your question, certainly Scheweser notes are good enough to pass CFA level 1. Along with Scheweser notes i will recommend you to purchase Scheweset Q bank , it is also very necassary for practice. For any further query just post. - Pracs - 02-20-2009
quote

quote
Assalamoalaikum Warahmatullah-e-Wabarakatuhu, Can some one please tell me if Schweser notes for CFA Level 1 2009 are enough for the preparation or do i need to look into some other books as well? Some members do not visit the forum 5 times a day or for that matter daily, perhaps on the weekends, ever care to think that ? - Toronto_Boy - 02-21-2009 Dear Shahbaz I have requested many times on this forum to have independent search first at your own. It is quite necessary in your professional life to develop search skills. Search engines like google are a great primary source. Moreover, your request about CFA material and other has already been discussed on this forum too. All you need is to search this forum first before asking others. This is one of the main objectives of your studies too to develop such skills. For example, in 3 out of 4 CPA (USA) exams, one component of the exam is just to perform live search from professional material like Tax Code, and GAAP etc. about the questions in exam. All Tax Codes, GAAP, GAAS, Advisories etc. are linked to the exam online. Usually, a student would have on average 3 minutes to perform this task about each question. So, please don't feel offence, but practice this vital skill to prepare for your professional life. However, following is the link for CFA related questions on a good website, that I have already provided previously; http//www.analystforum.com/phorums/index.php?23 Dear CFACCA, a healthy debate with the objective of guidance of students does contribute and add value. Students should know detailed pros and cons of various qualifications when they start their professional studies/careers. Regards - Shahbaz - 02-21-2009 Thanks CFACCA. Only you put forward something sensible. @Other jerks who only like to talk much Here is an advice for you guys, either put up something useful and helpful or shut up. I can also type 100s of lines to answer your pathetic posts but I don't want to waste my time on it. - Pracs - 02-22-2009
quote
Thanks CFACCA. You ppl just dont waste any opportunity to climb upon each others shoulders. Be friends, be brothers.. Yes the site one of my fellow poster mentioned is a worthwhile site for analyst but has a certain backdrop, for registration in that forum you must have a PAID e-mail id ( certainly which most of us dont have ). Anyways lets close out this debate... For any queries regarding CAT, ACCA or CFA just post.... I l welcome u .. will definately will - CFANerd - 03-09-2009 I agree with TORONTOBOY, if you can't search for the basic queries, you'll have a tough time finding your way around in the real world. SCHWESER and other material is abundant on internet. My no-fee advice) is 1. SCHWESER guides including everything i.e. notes, mock exams, q banks etc. Visit schweser.com at your earliest convenience) 2. Good grasp of learning outcomes of study sessions. You'll get CFA institute books once you register for CFA. Atleast thats what Ive read. Hopefully I am not mistaken. 3. Additional readings my recommended Ross Westerfield Jordan........ Corporate Finance John C. Hull.......Derivatives Investments by Bodie, Marcus Investment analysis and portfolio management Reily Brown Of course you can customize your reading list or not use any of these at all depending on your preferences. Hopefully more than answers your query. |
