BBA - > MBA -> ? - abbas_chinikham - 02-23-2009

I am confuse regarding what to do.. Please help me choose the correct path

I have done BBA - Hons from BIZTEK. Currently I am doing MBA from IQRA Univ - Major in Finance. But after entering this Finance field, I have realized that an MBA Finance cannot reach higher post. On most occasion, he will be under a CA or ACCA or ICMA or any other professional degree.

After having experience of 1 year in Accounts field, I am confuse which degree to persuade along with MBA. I am thinking of starting ACCA. Is it worth starting?

Dear do MBA and then take admission in ACMA. Aftar doing MBA you will get 09 exemptions in AcMA. If any one want to do CA and ACCA he should must statt it after Inter. But you can think about CA.

Regards.

CFA would be a nice option if you are interested in the field of investment banking.

Awais,

ACMA .. I might migrate to Canada so cannot start ACMA. CIMA might be an optiion. But CA cannot be. As it will take way tooo long. I am more sort of interested in CMA or CIA.

Shahbaz,

Because of some family reason, i try to avoind working in banks. And CFA's scope is in bank.

Nice to hear your answer abbas. But you can also do some other kind of jobs after completing your CFA. However, its your choice what you want to do. [)]

Thanx Shahbaz ..

Would like know senior's opinion on CMA and its scope in Pak as well as international market !

There is too much hype over CA and ACCA. Why don't you people go for CFA?
Pakistani MBA is worthless in international job market unless you do it from a top notch school in Pakistan. Or it is useful for getting your credits transferred. I did BCOM in Pakistan n that is truly a waste of money and time.

ABBAS!
Make you resume attractive by getting more experience in your field. That's more important than anything. When you'll go for a job you'll be judged based on your experience and achievements.
