Structure / Hirarchy in Audit Firms - najeeb - 09-18-2009

Members of the forum are kindly requested to explain the Hirarchy of an Audit firm. Explain the different positions/titles assigned to the work force from top to bottom. Do they differ from firm to firm? or are mostly same?

This will help all those who don't have any information about it, and are willing or planning to join audit firms in future.

If not in detail, please provide a brief description.

And if this topic has already been discussed on this forum, please provide that link.

Thanks

In Pakistan, there are senior trainees & junior trainees. Any senior can assign a junior trainee any work (not audit assignments, simple tasks within the firm)

When on audit on a client, a senior trainee is the Job In-Charge & manages a team of trainees junior than him usually consists of 1 or 2 trainees (number of trainees in the team usually depends on the size of the client)

Then there are Audit Supervisors, Assistant Managers, Managers (who usually directly assign work to the trainees), Senior Managers, Partners
