I am Confused - KJK - 07-01-2004

As in the ACCA Pakistan Stream has been launched from Dec 2004.
Now I have 3 possibilities-

1------ If a student has reached the professional stage after passing 3.2 whether he should opt for PKN stream or not.

2------ If a student joins PKN stream then what advantage will he get from the ICAP exemption.

3------ If a student proceeds with the same stream with no change then what will be the difference at the end of the game. Will a student will have an upper hand on UK stream students or an upper hand on PKN stream students.

Please advise me on these possibilities and remove my confusion

1------ If a student has reached the professional stage after passing 3.2 whether he should opt for PKN stream or not.

-->> I think the PKN stream is available only for 2.2 (Corp and Business Law) and 2.3 (Business Taxation)... It is not available for 3.2 (Advanced Taxation)... So how would one opt for the PKN stream after 3.2?!!

2------ If a student joins PKN stream then what advantage will he get from the ICAP exemption.

-->> I dont think one would be getting more exemptions because the only tax exam an ACCA qualified has to sit for ICAP is Advanced Taxation (ICAP)... And ACCA hasn't yet introduced the 3.2 (Advanced Taxation) Pakistan variant.
But yes, ICAP may well exempt the Corporate Law exam currently in Module E. ACCA students should keep their fingers crossed, but for some reason, I don't see that happening.

3------ If a student proceeds with the same stream with no change then what will be the difference at the end of the game. Will a student will have an upper hand on UK stream students or an upper hand on PKN stream students.

-->> I don't think I have a rational answer for this question... It still would take minimum three more years to get a better picture whether employers in Pakistan prefer students with Pakistani variant.

Well sumaan thanks for your only and positive response. Now I have given the papers of 2.2 & 2.3 last month. My confusion is that if I pass these 2 papers then I will have to sit these papers again if i Join PKN stream.

My point is that if I complete my ACCA with PKN stream I don't think so that I would get more exemptions.
Please advise me that what will be beneficial for me whether PKN or UK stream.

I don't think ACCA will allow you to resit exams that you have once passed.

If you're asking for my advice, it's better that you continue with the UK stream.
