Merger of Yousuf Adil and Anjum Asim - mudassar2704 - 02-11-2011

Some body told me that after Faisalabad, Deloitte has closed it's Lahore and Islamabad office also. Now they have left with only two office in Pakistan Karachi and Multan. Further merger of Yousuf Adil(Deloitte) with Anjum Asim (Grand Thorton)is also under way.
If it happens then Deloitte will become a real giant in Pakistan.

There has been such gossip in the professional circles during last week and reliable sources confirm that there was something which gave rise to such a gossip. As per sources, the Managing Partner of comparatively weaker firm didnt show the required amount of interest on the reported offer from other end. People who know the growth trends can figure out well why it didnt turn up with acceptance on the offer.

As far as Faisalabad office of a big firm (being discussed) is concerned, it has now been officially closed down after the dispute among partners. However, Lahore and Islamabad offices are running without any partner, again due to the dispute among partners which resulted vacancy of office from the partners in-charge of such offices. Lahore office is being managed from Multan currently, while at Islamabad probably show is managed from Karachi (or by some qualified manager/director at Islamabad).

This time audit of NBP in Punjab is being conducted by Deloitte Multan instead of Lahore. Similarly audit team on Sitara Chemical Ltd. is also from Multan instead of Lahore.

The avowal made above that Islamabad and Lahore offices are running without partners is baseless and without merit. Both the partners of Lahore and Islamabad offices are fully active and operational. These two offices are collectively providing services to almost 400 clients. The reason for audit teams for Sitara and NBP from Multan is due to the work load on Lahore office staff. Mudassir please don’t spread false rumours.

Any conflict among seasoned professionals is nothing to be celebrated for. We wish this dispute come to an end amicably without getting public like what we saw in case of Faisalabad office of same firm. These things adversely affect the stakeholders and profession. I believe this is not to be debated, yet, the facts cannot be denied because these have to eventually crystalize. If one doesn't find such news at official websites or facebook pages, it cannot altogether be ruled out. There are certainly many red signals like what recently happened at OGDC (insiders know it). Here we have members of this forum who might be having routine sittings with the partners of a firm in question, and may be knowing what's going on behind the scene. We at this forum may be having visited by even partner(s) or director(s) of the firm being discussed.

Let's wish best to be concluded on this matter; and don't go to the point of no returns in this useless debate which carries no benefits to any of the forum members.
