mates, one moreason for the downfall of good quality MBAs is tht MBA has now become the LAST RESORT for most of the disappointed ppl. this is a fact, n the most crucial reason. i ve got to know it personally.
ne1 who is not happy with his current profession, thinks none other thn mba. the main reason is tht mba has happened to b the only qualification in the world tht has no restriction upon previous academic back ground. it doesnot matter whether u r a doctor, or engineer, or accountant, or pharmacist, or whatever, u r always get in. but this is not the case in other fields n degrees. unless u ve proper n relevant background, u cannot think to enter it. so almost every person who is not feeling good with his current jobs or field, thinks abt mba only. this is a desparate decision in 95% cases, rather than internal motivation. it leads to poor quality mba graduates in the end. this all is my personal observation.
i personally know a person who did his MBBS just bcoz his parrents wanted him to b a doctor, now he is doing MBA half-heartedly bcoz he finds himself unfit in medicine profession. he is in mba bcoz he could not join ne other profession, eg, engineering or etc. u can now well imagine wht quality will he posses in the end. these r the reasons tht ve led to a downfall of good quality MBAs in pakistan.
but if u look at MBA markets in europe n usa, the case is totally different. they dont let ne1 get into MBA without 4-5 yrs of job in the field of his graduation. additionally, the potential student has to submit a synopsis in order to persuade the institution tht he really deserves MBA degree for career growth. then he has to take GMAT tests, interviews, n other phases, b4 he enters in MBA. so u see, wht a good quality MBAs do their institutions produce. just look at LSE, harvard, MIT etc.
