Is CPA Australia good?

Dear All

I wanted to immigrate foreign but due to strict rules i can not move their, so decided to move to australia through studies as they give permanent resident after two years study and accounting is highly demand in australia, so i visited their and after research i found that they hve demanded qualification CPA but to enrol it i have to study two years program that is Master of Professional Accounting through which i can get immigration and then go for CPA, now i want your advise that CPA Australia is good and recognized if i come in pakistan after few years with international experience or i go to uk for ACCA, please help me

Assuming immigration is your ultimate goal, I would suggest to do ACCA in Pakistan, then apply for immigration to Australia, UK, Canada or any other country. This option is very less costly, less difficult (as compared to difficulties you can see there on student status), more stable, and there are more chances that you would qualify for ACCA if you do it from Pakistan. Thousands of students go to foreign countries these days on student visa, and then due several reasons, do not complete their education, eventually life become hell for them. Post 9/11 world is very difficult for students from Pakistan. Thanks to access to global qualifications in Pakistan, students can avoid such difficulties by qualifying from Pakistan first.

This way your desired goal, i.e. immigration, would come a little later in life, but your life would be more easy. You cannot imagine the difficulties I am talking about.

Each qualification is good, including CPA (Aus) as long as you know how to use it. For further details, you may read following thread;

You are right Toronto boy, but i want to go now, because i know my financial conditions and please tell me problems which you didnt mention, hope this will help to get your point more easily, uk needs earning proof of around PKR 80,000 and above, to proof this we need to work around 2-3 years more after ACCA, while doing MPA in Australia, i will not only earning for my living expenses but my tuition fees as my spouse would also entitled to work there full time, i think cost of living including my tuition fees would not be such problems, yes one problem would be racial discreminition but it is all around the world even if i go later.

i am also planning to go Australia, first u tell me your past qualification. I enroll in Amtech Institute of Management and Technology. The institute offer the Accontancy degrees as well as ACCA, so the first institute in Australia that offer ACCA. Because the ACCA Uk decided to open the ACCA qualification in Australia as well as in New Zeland. If u r graduate then there is no problem to enroll in ACCA directly. if u have only the undergraduate qualification than u will also enroll for CAT in Amtech institute.

Difficulties mainly arise due to legal status and financial requirements. Still, both of your posts lack important information such as how would you and your spouse be able to work legally with foreign student status? In first post, you said after 2 years of study they will give you permanent resident status, and in second post you mention that your spouse is elligible for full time work. I am assuming she already has some sort of legal status there, so she is elligible to work full time. But in that case, as far as I know, you should have the same legal status after applying for that, and you don't need 2 years of studies for permanent resident status then.

Or you wanna say that they allow part time work to foreign students, and full time work to spouses of foreign students? Usually, this is not the case. Or at-least I am not aware of.

However, in any case, if you and your spouse are legally allowed to work during studies, then you may afford. But again it depends whether you are paying international students fees or local students fees, and also how many credit hours of courses you are picking up. Masters level of studies with full load of studies and work may be difficult to manage.

CPA Australia has a sort of reciprocity arrangement with CPA (USA), so in long run, you may apply for CPA(USA) too.

Well in last u got my point that my spouse can work full time when i will commense my studies there...well thats why i decided to go for mpa and then cpa....thanks for your views and one more thing should i go for cpa or acca in australia

Man i am an MBA and want to do accounting course so that i could get PR...i will go for ielts paper first and then i will apply for further...now share me information...more please also tell me spouse can work full time only if i am studying masters or she can work full time if i enroll in post graduate diploma

In my view, if you would remain in Australia, you may prefer CPA. However, it is all your personal choice that can be different.
