Here we go again. I think the time is right for me to butt in with my two cents once again. These guys have provoked me just right.
I'll start with Nauman. First of all, let me thank you for being so ignorant, makes my job easier. I never said Bilal wasnt qualified enough to do ACCA, though come to think of it, he probably isnt. What I said was its better to do ACCA first, and then register to ICAP for CA, since the articles requirement is less, you get an additional degree and modules E and F are considerably easier to pass since you are already familiar with the syllabus. And I suggested Bilal's prejudice against ACCA was based on the fact that he chose the wrong route.
Secondly, I dont know where you people come up with these statistics. 90% of people start ACCA after failing CA? I have done ACCA and I have come across alot of senior/junior ACCA students over the years. I have not come across a single person who started ACCA after failing module A or B. So I dont believe a single word you are saying, and I am sure none of the ACCA students will believe you as well. Although, if somebody did start ACCA after initially starting CA, maybe its because he figured ACCA was better.
What would an ACCA v/s CA arguement be without a pro-CA claiming CA is tougher. Thats like your slogan isnt it? Well just because a degree is tougher doesnt necessarily mean its better to begin with. I think the syllabus content and degree demand decide which degree is better.
I have reviewed your syllabus, and frankly its not that tough. Its very similar to the ACCA syllabus, and since I already explained how your syllabus was outdated on a few occasions, ACCA wins in that department hands down. Agreed?
The demand for ACCA in Pakistan is pretty sufficient in its own right, I have seen affiliates being appointed as internal auditors in a few companies without any articles. ACCA has earned alot of respect and its getting more recognition day by day. But CA Pakistan is the big dog in this pound, no arguements there. Still, since ACCA is recognised in alot of other countries, it covers a greater area which means its demand is more. You are probably stil not convinced so let me elaborate.
You say even in England they prefer ICAEW over ACCA. First of all you are perfectly eligible for an Executive post over there after ACCA at a decent salary. Secondly, if you go there and decide to do ICAEW you are awarded exemptions, and this is true for alot of other countries. You are given exemptions from the local CA of those countries, ICAP is another example. How many exemptions do you think you will get if you go there after doing CA Pakistan? Since we are on the subject, after ACCA you are eligible for exemptions in CIMA as well. There might be more degrees, I'm not sure. None of this is true for CA Pakistan.
Coming back to what I said earlier, just because CA is tougher to pass doesnt warrant it being better. Everyone knows that ICAP passes students on a quota basis and thats the only reason you people keep failing, so dont get me started there. I think its about time you guys stopped whinning like a couple of middle aged divorced women and studied a little harder. Dont keep saying ACCA is easier because you cant think of anything else. You call it being easy, I call it fair marking.
Ali Akbar, you are right. ACCA does allow the affiliates to teach, for a maximum of one year, during the 3 year professional training required by the degree. I dont see any harm in that. Teaching is a profession as well, and if ACCA is flexible enough to include it, why are you losing sleep over it? But the librarian story is something I dont buy.
Bilal Azher. You make so little sense, I'm not sure how to reply to you. I think I have said enough, though I'd appreciate it if you could put away your bong for a second and elaborate on something you wrote.
"ur words are in contradiction with ur actions.but i dont blame u,because u are a pakistani"
Whats that all about? I'm completely lost. Let me end this with a little advice. You and your friends should gracefully admit that you have been outdone, and you have lost this arguement. Its no big deal, and I am not your enemy like you said. (That was hilarious by the way). Stop embarrassing yourself and your fellow CAs. You are making them look bad, really. It doesnt matter what you keep telling yourself, ACCA is here to stay whether you like it or not.
