There are three (maybe) ways to enter ACCA.
1 Professional Examination Rout (PER)
To follow PER you must be over 18 years of age and have a qualification acceptable by ACCA. You can also gain certain exemptions on the basis of your previous qualification. In Pakistan you can be B.Com, B.Com (hons), B.A, B.Sc or Masters from any recognized institute.
2 Mature Entry Rout (MER)
Students having no such qualification can follow MER if they are 21 year old. To follow this rout they must pass two papers in two years following the date of their registration. Papers are M1 and M2 equivalent to 1.1 and 1.2.
3 Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
By doing CAT you can directly enter to the part two of ACCA. For this you must be over 16 year of age.
EXEMPTIONS [ACCA - PAKISTAN]

Mr. on what basis u defend ur ACCA?
ACCA is nothing more than a diploma infront of CA in Pak. How one can compare an ACCA with CA qualified??? I have seen ACCAs doing internship or teaching in a college under a qualified CA and they think and they say that it is also three year articleship!!! how one can compare a qualified CA, having exposure of industries during articleship, with ACCA having three year articles in a college as being a teaher or as being an accountant or as being a LIBRARIAN!!!how??? how???
come to theoratical portion....ACCAs dont consider the book of IASB for IFRS, their study texts r their bibles!!!
one of my friends doing ACCA, has studied only one week for ACCA papers from study texts has passed ACCA 2 papers....How ACCAs are equal to CAs??? how??
Come to market portion...CAs of ICAP are being supplied in market keeping in view the quality of CAs supplied and market of demand accordingly.. ACCAs in PAKISTAN are being passed disregarding the demand in Pakistani market. ACCA board or wtever u call it, how they evaluate the demand of ACCAs in Pakistan????in CA, i have seen too many ppl who cannot pass exams by wtever reason switch over to ACCA n they feel very comfortable. Remember ICAP does not fail its student intentionally. My dear every professional body 1st consider the demand of its members in market, in order to maintain the highest value of its members in market.. how u r gonna compare ACCAs in Pakistan with CAs. I m not talking abt ACCAs internationally.
