Pracs, found nothing in your post. (I am sure you wonât take this statement personal). What we were discussing is something altogether different. And, I agree that every discussion may not lead to some conclusion. I found this issue a bit important (just my own view) and there was or is much difference in our opinions in this issue.
Affording ACCA was not the issue, and there are a lot who can. Infact, a large amount of people are there in Pakistan who are spending more on academics than they can afford, perhaps it has become a must here. Also you should not forget CA also requires 100 to 150 thousand Rs plus more important 6+ valuable years of your life. So, in this case money should not be the core decisive factor.
Every thing is subject to change, and this is also applicable to ICAPâs exemptions. But it seems quite probable that ICAP will continue its policies. So, I think one could base his decision assuming these exemptions will remain there.
Following what others are doing is what I mentioned earlier. In Pakistan the case is like this. Examples you mentioned are there. You should have mentioned the LOT OF OPPURTUNITIES available. And, I have no idea at all how one's profession is based upon ones aptitude in Pakistan. And, Parcs, you must know that all the aptitude test in Pakistan, whether for accountany or any other profession are more or less same here.
Now both Maani and Parcs tell me
Is different aptitude is required for choosing ACCA or CA?
Do you think study pattern in HSSC resembles to what is required in CA?
And Maani A level accounting covers much of CA also. ACCA is systematic in nature and requires a mature mind, why are you comparing it with HSSC when in the current situation it is to be compared with CA.
So, the question remains there and unable to find any argument in your post. ACCA, definitely, is a bit more costly, ACCA syllabus is considered more comprehensive, and in this situation ACCA is to be compared with CA Inter not CA.
Despite all this the decision is mainly should base upon which one of the two ACCA and CA Inter is more difficult to pass. (Comprehensive course matters much less) and if your answer is ACCA is reasonably easier than CA Inter I found reason for not suggesting anyone to come through ACCA route. I donât like to repeat arguments given in previous posts.
