Dear Nakaiun,
ACCA is growing in Pakistan at the moment and you can certainly see job advertisments for ACCAs as well.
I have never been against any qualification, but I dont like those who do ACCA just becoz they feel sour grapes at ICAP exams. If some one as a matter of choice do ACCA, it is great. But if one criticises ICAP for its sour grapes, and then go far doing ACCA, then it does not appeal. The thing is just to be understood.
One thing is certain, you cannot compare ACCAs at the moment with CAs as far as remuneration is concerned, at least in Pakistan. I have similar opinion about other countries but I dont go in much details.
The above lines however dont mean that ACCA cannot get good salaries. They can and in some cases they are getting it. They may need to sacrifice in the start when they join, but if they prove theirselves, they get the progress.
An ACCA affiliate was my student while he was doing ACCA. After becoming qualified affiliate, we were paying him Rs. 15,000. Then it was enhanced to Rs 20,000 within one year. After that he joined a beverage industry at Rs 28,000. And now just after three months of joining his job, I have offered him to rejoin me at Rs 40,000 per month plus 1000 CC car (as I want him to be relocated to our office at some other city). This is becoz he was a good and obedient professional. However, he is demanding further better and he can certainly get further better with the passage of time.
This is just an example. There is no cap on earning levels. Earning depends upon fate. There may be the cases where some ACCAs might be getting Rs 100,000 or more, with the passage of time and with getting good exposure and proving their capabilities.
Regards,
Kamran.
