4.5 years may be the minimum time after these recent changes i.e. now a student can appear in two modules in one attempt. He or she can appear in A and B jointly after six months of starting CA, and if both are cleared Mod C and D can be taken jointly in succeeding attempt. So, minimum time for qualifying CA Inter (upto Mod D) is one year now. Previously it had been two years. I can tell you not even one percent of students will be able to do it inter in one year. So appear in two modules simulatneously should not be any option a new student. After passing inter student has to go for articleship. Previously, duration of articles was 4 years but now is reduced to 3.5 years. So now minimum time required to qualify CA is now reduced to 4.5 years from 6 years. However, it is almost impossible for majority to qualify CA in 4.5 years.
