Mr. Sheikh
It's a technical and lengthy discussion which is of no use or benefit to you. There are some associations of independent firms and there are some international firms (that are not associations). In Pakistan some firms have affiliation with such associations; and some firms are theirself the members of the international firms.
AFF is a member firm of PWC which is not an association rather an International firm. Therefore be it called AFF or whatever, it is simply the PWC. There is an option at Pakistan to attach the foreign firm's name with the local firm; or to have an isolated name. However, the foreign name cannot be solely used. Like you see "KPMG Taseer Hadi and Co." They cannot simply write "KPMG". In other cases "Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder" that totally does not use the name of "Ernst and Young (E&Y)" of which it is a member, but write E&Y on almost all documentation separately. You may also see "M. Yousaf Adil Saleem and Co." that mentions "Deloitte" on documentation but it is not the part of its name.
So in Pakistan no firm can use solely the foreign firm's name. However it has an option to attach the foreign name with its name, if deemed fit. The using of logo or just mentioning {"a mamber firms Of "XYZ"} is permissble even if it is not the part of the name.
So don't you get worried about AFF. It is simply the PWC.
Regards,
KAMRAN.
