u r quite right right in ur point of view.
may be im not been able to convey my thoughts.
but its a bitter reality.
one has to do sumtin which will make him outstand others.
ITS ALL WHAT V CALL WINDOW DRESSING.
ONE HAS TO PRESENT HIMSELF IN A WAY SO AS TO be OUTWEIGHED OVER OTHERS.
yar aap bilkul sai baat kehty ho.i totally agree wid u .....
but d point is there is no comparison b/w locally achieved qualification n an internationaLLY ACHIEVED QUALIFICATION
no doubt both qualifications would b equal ........
bt approach would be different.......
employer would prefer a person having an internationally achieved qualification.
its a real fact.......
rest everyone's thoughts and approaches are differnt.
may be u r taking it in a different context ..........
have u compared d salary of LUMS graduate and AN LBS graduate?
u have to accept dis reality,
institution ka aap k job prospects par bohat farq parta hai............
ok aap pakistan al-khair university sai MBA kar lo,
den aap LUMS sai MBA kar lo ...............
u will feel da difference ...........
u will c ur market demand......
on da basis of al khair university and LUMS .
JUB pakistan mai rehty huay itni discrimination hai between institutions ....
den y not in foreign,
ofcourse foreign qualified would be preferred over both....
same case wid ACCA.......
i hope i have sum what conveyed my thoughts.....

<br />sorry i dont buy that. i beg to differ. you are basically comparing apples with oranges. when you talk of ACCA, it is a qualification and not a degree. pass it from anywhere and you are an acca. however, when you compare lums with harvard, i think you are stretching it a bit. Im proud that our country has institutions like LUMS and their MBAs are doing great.
i gave an example in an earlier thread to someone who shared the same views as you. Shaukat tarin and Shaukat Aziz are both IBA Grads. IBA is no where near LBS or HBS but did that stop them from having internationally successful careers?? no it did not. going abroad for education is great but when you go to harvard, you have a harvard degree (and mind you, getting into LBS or HBS is 100 times difficult then getting into LUMS), but how will kaplan financial add anything to your CV.
Mehnat kar bhai or apni skills ko improve karo.
Adios
