Dear Toronto Boy,
It is very nice of you to give so much helpful information to us. I have some doubts too. Let me tell you my story,
1. I have worked for 5 years after graduated from a university in Shanghai of China, bachelor degree with major of accounting. Now I have found a new job in a Shanghai CPA firm for only a couple of month.
2. I have passed most of ACCA papers except P5. I hope to finish and get to ACCA member next year. As soon as I get it, I will transfer to CGA immediately.
3.I have applied to immigrate to Canada two months ago, and I estimate the waiting time might be
two years, so I can do something to prepare myself during this time. My destination is Winnipeg, I would like to find a career job there.
My question is that,
1. I would like to find a job of auditor when I get to Winnipeg, do you know the circumstances of CA firms in Winnipeg or other similar cities in Canada? Because I do not think Winnipeg is a large city with lots of jobs. Do I have to get a CICA certificate? and How to get it if I were a CGA? Can I get some papers exempt?
2.I have an option, if I become ACCA member, I can access to ACA and become an ACA member within 2 years. Then I transfer to CICA without further tests. Do you think it is feasible? I have heard that becoming a CICA needs Canadian CPA firms admission and experience, which is not easy to get in Canada.
Please give me some advice in CICA certificate. I regard it as a good tool to get a good job. And I really would like to get some soft skills and become a helpful worker when I get Canada. What
should I prepare now?
Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Sunny
