aimaad....there are two aspects to you question...
1. Why it is not recommended?
Ans....because it is not up to date with law........laws keep changing rapidly and the pbp text has not been updated for a long time........so ordinance is a must..atleast once..you don't have to do it again n again..
and also...u need to be able to interpret the law language for later use as mentioned by someone else..
2.Can it be used?
Ans......Yes...it can be used...and for ACCA people it is a must.....although it is not updated...still the arrangement of sections, topics and explanation is important for general understanding of the law.....for which the book is good...Those from CA background do have the general concept of the law that is why they can directly go to the ordinance...but you can not rely solely on it...its just like general purpose guidance...for passing exam u must read through the ordinance..
3.What to do then?
Well...First you need to read through the PBP text so that you understand what the law is generally..
second....get yourself a Law book...i recommend PAC module D book..and for those in lahore its Naeem Baig's notes (CAPS)
Now...you read the book...and then study the relevant sections from LAW at the same time......now you have to add those missing things in the book/notes from ordinance that are not mentioned in the books....
Third,
Try to make your own notes of other laws sections if you can......that will help you understand and remember better..
NOw...that you have got all the stuff onto your book/notes from ordinance..you don't need to read it again...
