hi
i think there is no harm in remixing old songs as long as they do justice with the melody. recent remixes from every tom dick and harry sound terrible and their video shoots are extremely vulgar. this is a fact the singers know themselves and they rely on videos to get 'em hit.
bally sagoo initially remixed some good numbers specially with GUNJAN, after that he started doing the same rubbish everyone else is doing. remixes by Bombay Viking sound OK to me.
remixes can never take place of the originals, originals are ever green and real listeners will never forget legends like Rafi, Lata, Talat Mehmood, Kishore, Mukesh, Aasha, Manadey etc.
in pakistani pop Ahmed Jahanzeb, Fuzon and this new boy Ali Zafar are composing good melodies and maintaining a good balance between Commercial music and Music for music's sake. i think Pakistani pop is far ahead of Indian pop at the moment.
regards
