Got your point regarding the name change. But then that raises another question. If indians care so much about their roots, then why dont they also change their national language which if i am not mistaken, is currently english? Same is the case with the name "India" itself, which i believe is a westernised term for Hind.
As for our educational system, let me correct my fellow pakistanis on this board. There are two basic systems in pakistan, private and public, as is the case in nearly every country of the world. Like other developing countries, all Pakistani governments have stuggled to balance the budget allocation between education and other sectors. IMO there's also a lack of vision and realisation among our leaders that education is the cure for all our ails.
In this scenario, private sector has taken over to fill the gap created by the public education system in most of the urban areas of pakistan and now is the preferred option of education.
With regards to movies... ofcourse we have cinemas. Where do u think we live? Afghanistan?!! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> Its just that we deceided to kill our film industry with our own hands during the late 70s and early 80s, by either hounding all the quality filmmakers out of the country or forcing them into retirement. The chaff remaining were only interested in making substandard, full of violence and titilating flicks meant for the uneducated masses, sort of like your Telugu cinema.
Personally speaking, i aint too interested in indian cinema and absolutely dislike the way pakistan is portrayed in them, which is as far from reality as possible, although must admit there are ppl here who watch a bollywood movie everynight before going to bed.
