Acca Qualification

What I didnt understand from your question was that why would there be any differentiation made b/w an ACCA qualified coming thru the route that IAF has given?? I mean is it because YOU consider matric to be of low level or what? Its the qualification millions of our people get and hence its the average qualification for an average Pakistani. If anything, I think a smaller local unit would be more incline towards hiring someone from matric background coz they can relate more to the average guy here, rather then going for someone with A Levels or any other background, coz those are considered more of a "elite class" qualification. Plz elaborate your question maybe I understood it wrongly.

Dear OSA,
with due respect i am sorry to say YES u completely misunderstood my question.What i wanted to ask in my last post was when a person becomes an Acca qualified through the route mentioned by IAF,he/she misses two qualifications that are F.Sc/FA and B.Com/BA as this is considered to be a proper route. so i wanted to ask that will the firms not consider someone for their job/articleship with these two additional qualifications instead of someone with just having CAT qualification.As i personally think that every qualification counts.So THAT WAS MY QUESTION.Did i write anything like "A-levels" or "Low level" or "Elite Class".My question was that will the firms not prefer someone through "PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION ROUTE".And look now u r turning them down by saying that they will be hired by "SMALLER LOCAL UNITS".why?why they will not be hired by multinationals.So would u plz like to comment on my original question instead of interpreting it in any way u want to. I am sorry if i wanst able to ask my question in a proper manner in my last post.i hope that now i have elaborated my question.

Firstly, one should always at least clear Intermediate even if he/she starts CAT after matriculation... Both can be done simultaneously....

Those students do ACCA after B.com/B.A who at the last moment decide to do ACCA and didn't plan for it previously... Other students do B.Com alongside ACCA/CA, the reason being what is called a 'fallback contingency approach'... There is however no obligation on a student to do B.Com/B.A with/before ACCA/CA...

It's not that those who don't do B.Com/B.A don't get articles in multinationals or big-four... But one should always do Intermediate, as secondary education upto matriculation just isn't enough for a person's mind to educationally mature to a the required level.

First of all Salaam to all of you.just a few days back i took a decision regarding my career using this useful forum.But u guys make me confuse again.Now plzzzzzzzzz help me getting out of this.First of all lemme tell u that i am not brilliant enough to focus on two qualifications at a time.because i know if i try to do this i will fail in both of them.No kidding. As i told u before i have just done my matriculaton so now i can go for either CAT or Intermediate.Now if i go for intermediate at this stage it gonna take three years as i can get enrolled in a college from next year and then do CAT.So i am more interested in doing CAT right away but i wanna be sure that this route will not cost me my career at the end.Let us put fallback contingency approach and educational maturity required for doing Acca aside for just a moment.Now just suppose i wud like to say again "suppose" one gets Acca qualified by going for CAT after matriculation and then doing Acca...including its bachelors degree..Once he gets qualfied now does it matter that what route he follows(i mean the route i have given above)....If it matters i wud really love to know to which extend?... One thing more i belong to a family of engg....my all family has done nothing else but engg...so i cant discuss all of this with them and as far as tutions centres are concerned they want just their fees so they will more likely advice me to go for Cat because they will never like to lemme go...i mentioned all this just to tell u guys that i am very much depending on this forum...i mean i just want your opinions i know the decision will be mine and i would be rsponsible for it...so plz feel free.... plz help this KID getting out of his confusion....hope to listen from u guys soon...Sorry for this merit of english but i will try to improve it soon (i know i have to contact Evoluton for this)....

Don't feel demoralized... Actually later on in your life it won't matter after you become a C.A whether you did Inter or not, but try to see it this way... The level of subjects you study at the Matriculation level are just not enough to help you later in your life... Try comparing Maths of Matric and Inter, you'll see the difference yourself...

If you're looking for advice, then I say you do both Inter and CAT simultaneously, but give more priority to CAT as it is more important to you...

However, the choice is all yours... Do whatever that gives you a feeling of satisfaction.

Sumaan thanx for ur reply....u helped me a lot through out this topic...Yeah i am also trying to muster up some courage so that i can go for both CAT and Inter at a time.Can anyone plz like to tell me that in CA many ppl do it just on their self study i mean without joining the tutions.Right.I guess respected Guybrush is one of them.Not sure.Do we have the same examples in Acca i mean do u think there are some ppl who did Acca completely or partially on their own self study? and what does "HEC" means?previously known as "UGC" which has just recognised Acca graduation degree.U all take care.

I know some students who study for ACCA by themselves.

First of all bro no need to be soo aggresive in ur questioning. Secondly, You didnt get my answer right. What I said there was that since majority of our people come thru the matric route, so most smaller firm or company owners are more at ease with them. This comes from the basic thing that most people who come from A Levels background have this tendency of speaking and arguing in english which at times puts other people in an awkward spot. Its not wrong to think and talk in english and neither are those people who feel overawed by such persons. Its just that they are much more comfortable with people speaking urdu as general means of communication. and u cant deny that 90% of our people are rather overawed by people talking in english. this is apparent from the fact that they are much more impressed by them.
Thirdly, I dont see any reason why multinationals or big4 would have a problem with hiring people coming from the mentioned route.

Excatly my point .. Guybrush came from matric background and never faced any problems and my guessis that alot of other members are there who did the same and are yet to face any problems.

Hey guys....come on....i am really amazed to see that whats going on....Hey Omer to whom are u telling all this stuff...i didnt ask anything like that nor i guess anyone else....and Omer i would like u to plz go through my last reply ...in which i mentioned what i am exactly asking....Now tell me where did i ask anyone to tell me that would the matric guy face some problems if he joins this profession ....i was only asking is it better to do Inter and B.com alongwith Acca becoz later while looking for articleship companies MAY prefer the person through this route instead of a person with just CAT qualifcation...see thats my question...now go through ur last two replies and u will urself come to know that u completely misunderstood the whole thing...bocoz u r telling me that the A-levels guys have ability to urgue in english and all this stuff...ok they may have...but i have nothing to do with it...so if in ur next reply u wanna post all this irrelative things ...plz dont quote my reply becoz my question has NOTHING to do with it...and as far as u said there is no need to be so aggressive in questioning.....just go through ur own 5th reply on this topic ...u will come to know who started all this...And if u still think this is all my fault..i am sorry..thats all i can sayyy...u take care...

I've seen some 'attitude and ego' problems with students (both A levels and inter) whenever there's a discussion about 'professional life and circle'...

I don't think a distinction between students should be made on their academic background, to an extent... Perhaps that distinction has led to this 'argument'...

I don't mean to spark any controversy here, nor do I wish to see raised eyebrows, but its quite obvious that ALevels students have a very healthy background, especially because ALevels Accounting and Mathematics are far more 'in-depth' and cover vast topics if considering in terms of syllabus...

However, I've seen some amazing Intermediate students as well... I have a friend who has completed his ACCA in the first attempt, is in his second last year of CA, teaches part-time as well, doing his articles from Ford Rhodes Siddat Haider... And he's from an Inter/B.Com background.... I know some other CA's too who qualified in the first attempt and came from the Inter route...

So to conclude, more depends on a persons own efforts and how much one believes in himself/herself, no matter what the odds.
