I differ on that one Paki, if you are looking for a job in the industry ACCA is definately sought for compared to ICAP. When it comes to the Big4, however, there has been, what I refer to as historical discrimnation against ACCA (this has however, come down over the last few years), ICAP in that case is considered to be the 'prime accounting qualification' of Pakistan. Having said that, in recent intakes at one of the Big4 I have seen no discrimination between an ACCA or an ACA (ICAP), what is more of a deciding factor is the kind of experience you have, specialisation and business need.
I have been saying this over and over that 'qualification' is just one factor that lands you with a superb career, an indivdual's people skills, technical skills, experience and country of experience (which would drive the kind of exposure you have)are some other important factors.
I understand that this debate shall continue as for most members it is an egoistic issue and there is nothing better than pampering your ego a bit, is there ? I am usually bemused by this topic since I belong to both the bodies.
My two cents are in for the good of both the communities
