Equivalent Assessment of C.A. Finalist

Assalam-o-Alaikum

Can any body guide me that after Graduation Is C.A.(Finalist) up to (Module E) with C.A. Training done (5 years)is equivalent to 16 years of education in pakistan.

I know that after you obtain the qualification you can get M.Com equivalence from HEC.....don't exactly know what the criteria of '16 years of education' means.

As per HEC rules only qualified chartered accountant is given equivalence to M.Com (16 years of education). For that too he should have atleast taken 5 years to qualify after FA/FSc etc.

How ever you may convert your CA fianalist qualification into that of accademic through cetein universities in Pakistan offering such programmes. E.g University of Central Punjab offers MBA programme for Module E qualifieds.

but the bachelors degrees offered by private universities which are offered on exemption basis are not HEC recognised.

You guys would perhaps miss a vital point.

Degrees achieved on basis of exemptions are OK for resume, business cards, or to tell potential employers, but NOT for further education where evaluators assess actual courses taken in that degree.

For example if one gets a masters degree from Pakistan on the basis of exemption through any professional association, but later on applies for any other masters program in USA, would most likely not be able to get admission based on that degree.

So, I always suggest students to get degrees by actual exam sittings, such as by passing private MA Economics exams, because then that degree satisfies the pre-requisite course requirements or credit hour requirements of next degree or qualification. At-least the students who intend to come to North America (specially with intention to study further) should get their base degrees this way, NOT by exemption.

Sit in private BCom and MA Economics exams etc. Private or regular does not matter much, but actual exam sitting does.

Toronto boy, you may be right. But I am under BBA programme of UCP Lahore on the basis of CA-inter. They require to sit and pass 20 exams in addition to the successful submission of research work. And as far as I have tried to know about this degree, this is recognized by HEC and one can seek admission in any MS like programme or sit in CSS exams. So what else we need?
