Awais,
I understand your anger and I personally feel Shahbaz should have not written those remarks. Urdu is not only his language; it relates to whole of Pakistan. Further, differences of languages, dresses, locations, colors, castes, (even religions and beliefs) do not count much, specially when we are discussing the things on forums. To me these don't even count in other generalized matters of routine life as well and don't provide a basis to hate each other.
Although I love URDU and its literature but am personally of the view that declaration of URDU as sole national language was quite a wrong decision irrespective of the fact that it was taken by Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Others should not feel it harsh or bad in taste since it is very much personal feeling of mine. In the presence of Bangaali and Urdu as major languages of the country none of them should have been preferred. It would have been a great step, had the English been selected as national language. I believe this wrong decision has pushed us a 100 years back. Others may not agree with this point of view and I have fullest regard for others personal feelings.
We can debate on issues of language, its pros and cons, merits, demerits, historical impacts and process of evolution in a separate thread, if needed.
Awais,
I don't ask you to forgive any one for his acts but typically it is taken as a nice gesture. However, for doing so a friendly note should also come from Shahbaz. This is a suggestion only since I am not given a duty to resolve this issue.
As far as your earlier post is concerned, I did not have any mis-understanding about it. If you don't agree, we can discuss it further and I assure you I will prove my point, at least about this matter.
Regards,
KAMRAN.
