A hadees
"Hazrat Jabir radiyallahu anhu has reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihe wasallm cursed the devourer of usury, its payer, its scribe and its two witnesses. He also said that they were equal (in sin)."
(Muslim)
I don't think that it applies to all the employees of banks, but it definately applies to some of them.

hmm...now we are getting somewhere. Faraz, thanks for posting this hadees. To date, I had never encountered any such hadees & if I am correct you say its from sahee Muslim? Can anyone else also post such ahadees, so that the forum members can be better informed about the issue.
You are right. This hadees does apply to "some" employees of the bank. But the question is, does it apply to ALL the workers of the bank ? I dont think that someone working in the AUDIT department (for instance) is doing a HARAM job according to this ahadees. any comments?
Also, the hadees mentions the "scribe" & the "witnesses". What if the scribe of the loan contract is a lawyer? Does that mean that being a corporate lawyer is also HARAM ?? Any views??????
Thanks for posting this.
