i think there are very few opportunities in the far east - malaysia and singapore. malaysia had a lot of opportunities before the monetary scams etc.

presently i work in Dubai for a big 4 and its not bad including the remuneration and all. i very much agree about the cheap Indian,Sri Lankan CA's. But i guess good employers realise the potential of Pakistani CA's and when they hire one they pay you better. Plus to work in the gulf a CPA or an ACCA counts a lot.

Ofcourse working in the gulf has its downers too, one cannot plan to stay here for long keeping in mind the expat status. Not to mention the kind of discrimination you face when competing with expat arabs and goras for that matter
