These qualifications belong to two separate fields Idrees, although Auditing is the common factor among them. CIA relates to purely Internal auditing and CISA relates to Information Systems Audit.

These are as i like to call them "specialization" qualifications and should be done as additional qualifications alongwith an accountancy qualification here in Pakistan. Some ppl have a knack for IT like me, therefore they opt for CISA. The other thing is that CIA is a bit more established in Pakistan than CISA which is relatively new. I also feel that CIA has a larger scope here in Pakistan, since nearly every public company is nowadays being pushed by SECP to create an internal audit function in their organization.

Its upto you to choose which qualification to go for.

Thanx Guybrush for ur reply...and explainations. i myself is interested in CIA..but i've heard the the future shape of audit is information systems audits(a fact). wish u best of luck for ur CISA
