People ... people.
what is it with you.
PhD is a research qualification, and although from the profession I wont even support getting CA equivalent to that... do we theorise and publish new reseach in accounting and auditing?... certainly not.
Our PhD has really no value internationally and what benefits would it bring , if for the matter of argument it is considered equivalent to any professional qualification... including ACCA.
... mind you my friends ACCA and CIMA are considered bachelor qualification in UK.
ICAP should try to get CA recognised as masters, for a start internationally... rather than getting HEC equivalencies which are .....what the heck....

CA is recognised as Masters...
Secondly, although ICAP doesn't have reciprocal membership with ICAEW and others, but it holds a lot of significance world wide... Thats probably a statement of experience as it is exactly what I have been told by various professionals... Don't know whether its totally true or not... Some have gone ahead to say that after ICAEW comes ICAP.
